How to Minimize Thunderbird in System Tray

thunderbird How to Minimize Thunderbird in System TrayThunderbird is well known and very popular e-mail client it let you check e-mail, send email rite under your desktop without logging into e-mail website. Thunderbird comes handy when you want to read your mails offline and want to be notified on your desktop when you receive an e-mail. I am using thunderbird with Gmail just because I receive like 3 e-mails every 30-60 minutes and Thunderbird notifies me whenever I receive an e-mail.

Thunderbird is a product from Mozilla labs and I honestly picked Thunderbird out of hundred of e-mail clients just because I trust Firefox and I believe if mozilla made a mail client it will be most secure e-mail client out there. The other things I love about Thunderbird is that its light weight loads fast and integrate with Gmail with a few strokes and the best it supports Addons.

The only issue I found with Thunderbird was that it always remains active in taskbar tabs and there is no option to send Thunderbird to System tray. While I was searching for the feature I searched on google and found that sending thunderbird to system tray is possible with the help of an Addon called MinimizeToTray.

  1. I use thunderbird too. I consider it a good alternative to the commercial client provided by Microsoft.
