These days mobility is what everybody needs like laptops, pda’s, mobiles almost everyone in this having a mobile device with him, that is why the stolen rate of mobile devices are on top of the list report says over 12,000 laptops stolen a week on airports thats a huge digit if you sum up the value of average laptop with the digit the money is like you and all your friends can live their lifes easily lol As a laptop owner i never want to loose my laptop neither the precious data in it which i gathered in years so i found a little tracking tool Adeona which can track a stolen laptop and tell you the exact location where the laptop is.

Adeona is free to use for laptops when you run setup it ask you to choose a password for you then it register some service itself and that is all, Adeona dont give you any information other than tracked IP’s whenever wherever laptop is connected to internet its ip will be logged and send to server Adeona use OpenDHT as a storage service, other than IP’s it also let you know from which router and from which source laptop was connected to internet, when your laptop is missing you just download the tool again on some other system put the same password again and the server will let you know information logged from your stolen laptop seems easy.

In the mac OSX version of Adeona they added a feature that built-in iSight camera capture images of thief when he is using laptop, they used a third party freeware tool isightcapture to make this feature available.

But you cant do anything even if you know tracked IP’s, Router and internet source information rite? but if you take the whole information to Police they actually can track the exact location where your laptop will be lying. Dont try to track your laptop yourself Law enforcement can catch the criminal well so you don’t need to.

However Adeona is missing some features which other softwares are offering like Lojack for Laptops but they cost 40$ per annum.
